It has 5 tabs to hold the Acer Iconia in place. In addition to the 2 bottom tabs and the left/right ones, the fifth TAB is located on the TOP just under the strap area. Which will prevent the tablet from sliding out while carrying it. The Acer Iconia A500 is my first tablet and I found text entry extremely frustrating, especially highlighting text for cut/paste - it was very inconsistent. Sometimes I could highlight a word or words, and sometimes it was impossible; on the other hand, Apple's iOS is more polished and far easier to use than Android. So what does this have to do with the product being reviewed? Plenty. I was on the verge of returning the tablet and buying the slightly cheaper Acer netbook when I came across this keyboard case. My frustration with the tablet was primarily with text entry and cursor positioning so I thought I would give this keyboard/case a try before I gave up on the tablet. Construction seems sturdy and strong. Tablet holds in there nicely. Magnetic clasp to hold easel strap to back when not in use, and magnetic closure tab adds extra security. Probably would prefer snap tabs instead of magnet, but it seems to stay closed, so not worried about it. It's nice to have a keyboard attachment to type more efficiently and quicker. Plus the use of shortcut keys make it a little easier using the copy/paste, select tool of the onscreen keyboard. Since a basic keyboard ran around $60 and just a portfolio case was around $20-$40, having a case AND keyboard combo for under $40 is quite a deal!
