The case is thick and sturdy, made of a black leather material. The interior has gray suede-like material. The stand has three positions, as can be seen in the pictures. A few issues with this case: 1. The upper left holder covers the headphone jack. You will need to undo the holder to plug into the headphone jack... or just cut the holder off. The tablet seems secure with just the top right strap. 2. The elastic strap that is used to hold the case shut covers the rear camera when the case is open, unless I am not positioning the elastic properly when using the tablet. 3. The same top left strap also sits on 1/2 of the volume rocker. This is not so much an issue since you can just press down on the leather strap to adjust the volume. Overall, decent case. However it looks good and protects well. There are some issues with it blocking the cameras, the front facing is completely covered and the rear is blocked when folded (the strap gets in the way too). The volume rocker is also obscured. I tried the official Acer folio case; got it for the usual going rate of $39.99. It wasn't a *horrible* case but for forty dollars it was not worth it. Despite the sub par protection, what really bothered me was it stunk! The case would have been far more acceptable if the price was say, 15 dollars. Enter the Targus Truss. All ports and buttons are accessible with two exceptions: the top left strap slightly covers one side of the volume rocker however you can still press the button through the material with relative ease. The headphone port is also partially blocked but you can either move the tablet within the case or push the strap up. It's made of a much better material than the Acer case and your tablet is well protected because of the materials/construction. The edges of the tablet sit in from the case surrounded by an outer layer of leather and an inner layer of hard plastic (I'm guessing). So if you drop your prized A500, it should not... Read more |
