There are several issues with this case that may not be initially evident, even when you inspect the case in person.I've had this case for three months and I purchased this case due to its protection and the ability to set my iPad up as a stand for typing and video watching. I'll list the pros and cons before concluding. Pros - 1- Protection - protects the iPad better than most cases I have seen. It has a supple interior that will not scratch the screen and the cover is cushioned to protect the iPad well. 2- Works as a stand - It only has 2 options for viewing, but the two are well chosen (one for typing, one for video watching.) 3- Sturdy as a stand - I have never had the iPad collapse due to the stand's failure. As other reviewers have given great detail on make, fabric, et, , I will just chime in on their reviews as follows:1) About the fabric picking up dirt and changing colors.... We've used ours for 8 weeks and don't see any staining, color change, splotches. Don't see problem there yet. 2) Haven't noticed the dust "lines" problem that may occur by the felt green fabric picking up stuff and then transfering it to screen during storage. 3) This is built so solidly and while not lightest weight, is no more than a hardcover book to carry around. 4) I too thought the idea of the band around the case to hold it closed seemed less structurally sound compared to snaps or zippers.
